March 6 is a day that always makes me pause. In 19

March 6 is a day that always makes me pause.
In 1992, we lost my dad. And yet somehow… he never really left.
He was one of those rare men: strong but incredibly gentle, intelligent but never arrogant, generous to a fault, and deeply devoted to his family. A businessman with principles, but also someone who absolutely loved life.
He loved a good table, good friends, loud laughter… a drink shared with the people he loved, and of course a poker game that could last hours. I’m pretty sure he believed the world could be solved somewhere between a glass in hand and a deck of cards.
He didn’t give big speeches about life. He simply lived it in a way that taught us everything: work hard, be generous, stay loyal, enjoy the moment, and never forget to laugh.
The older I get, the more I recognize pieces of him in myself. In the resilience. In the love of people. In the belief that life, no matter how serious it gets, should still be lived fully.
34 years later, I still miss him.
And I still imagine him somewhere… with a drink in one hand, a winning poker hand in the other.
Love you forever, Dad. ♠️
